CAREER CHANGED : A career-changed dog is one who began training for assistance or therapy work but was redirected to a pet home because that path wasn’t the right fit for them.
These dogs are well loved, thoughtfully trained, and ready to thrive in a home environment. Each dog is carefully matched with the right family to ensure a great fit—for both you and the dog.
Priority Placement to Therapy Dog Candidates
Priority is given to families who are open to their dog participating in therapy dog work. Therapy dogs visit places like hospitals, schools, and care facilities alongside their handler to provide comfort, companionship, and emotional support to others. This is always a volunteer role, and we provide FREE guidance and training to help you and your dog get started if it’s something you’re interested in.
Adoption Process
Step 1: Apply
Complete a short application so we can learn about your home, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a dog.
Step 2: Matching Process
If a good fit is possible, we’ll reach out to talk more and begin matching you with a dog based on personality, needs, and home environment.
Step 3: Meet & Finalize Adoption
Once matched, you’ll complete an adoption agreement and receive support for transitioning your new dog home.
Waitlist Option
You are welcome to apply even when no dogs are currently available. We will keep your application on file and contact you when a suitable dog becomes available.
Adoption Fee
The adoption fee is $600 per dog, which helps support the dog’s training, care, evaluation, and preparation while in our program.
